In March of 2020, folks began doing cocktail parties via teleconferencing. French conversation groups and Shakespeare table-readings via Zoom: It works!
The bigger the group, the more potential for audio traffic-jams. Four single-device households seems about right. We'll begin anew on Saturday, April 11.
These are easier as a virtual happy hour: That is, we bring drinks and snacks, and eat dinner later on our own.
I'm guessing we'll enjoy it as "second best" to real-life, but different than a series of sequential telephone calls to individual pals.
Most meetings seem to demand at least 5-10 minutes of set-up and adjustment. If it's your first time, I recommend joining the meeting 4-10 minutes early to address this.
